it's 3:37 am and here i am still blogging. i don't quite spend my time doing this unlike before but i decided to type in my thought herer once in a while. im fond of reading my own written thoughts anyway.
so how was my day? same old, same old. we again had our hospital duty today. i was assigned to a 64 y/o male patient with HASCVD, unable to move the upper and lower right extremities and unable to speak but able to communicate with sign language. his vital signs were already stable and was able to go home earlier today. i handled him for 2 consective days.
the patient was funny. hahaha. not a mocking insulting way.. but just funny.
me: 'lolo, nilalamig po ba kayo?'
(lolo: sign language, with blank staring eyes yet with a smiling face)
lola: 'gusto nya ikaw ang mag kumot sa kanya'

lola: (telling me) kunwari kunin mo yung 500 pesos nya...
me; lolo akin nalang itong pera nyo!
(lolo: tightens his grip on his money)...

i remember oprah's guest, a famous neuro-anatomist (?) who was able to recover from a coma. from what i have remembered, she relayed her story when she was in a coma. she said during that time, people around her spoke like animals. she cant understand anyone. she cant even understand what she was saying. and she thought it was cool (since she was able to examine herslf)... weird woman!
maybe there's still hope for my patient to speak. of course the doctors will tell the patients the worse thing that may happen. but only time can tell the level of recovery of the patient. i just hope for the best for lolo.
