The Operating Room

i'm really happy that i was able to scrub in on my second case! :) yey. not to mention that the team (dr. almoro, dr. elba, ms. marasigan, RN) was nice... i was tensed at first since it felt like scrubbing in for the first time...
the procedure done was cholecystectomy. as the operation went by, i felt all sorts of stuff... my nose itched. my back itched. my neck started to feel the strain. my mask was falling off my face. i felt like peeing. see, you just can't back out from it. you're body movements become limited when you're all dressed up with the green gown for sterility's sake. ok... so, i focused on what i was doing, trying not to mind the strain and the itch.. i heard the ROD sniffling. he must have been all wet with runny nose under that mask... "zzzz" "zzzzz", said the cautery pen... the aroma of burning burning muscle filled the air...

to be continued...

"zzz"zzz"zzz"... "suction please.." said the surgeon... the machine went, 'brrrrrrrrr'.... and the excess blood and fluids went up the tubes and down the big old jar... i was holding the deaver on both hands... whenever i felt tired, i just change positions...

so the surgeon, sliced his way down to the patient's insides and then... oh there it was! the gallbladder... sliced it.. removed it... closed the patient....

wow. it may sound simple to have experienced such but i felt great with it... and just being beside the ROD... he seemed so nice. :) hihi.
